Journalist receives threat for writing news

News Chief of Radio Resunga Bharat Pandey has been threatened by Principal of Sarbahit Primary School of Wami VDC-6 Keshav Rayamajhi on October 12 on charge of disseminating news about teachers of the school.

Sarbahit Primary School of Wami VDC-6 and Sahid Shamsher Primary School of ward number 7 of the same VDC closed after news published in local Sahayatri weekly on September 16 and Gorkhapatra national daily on September 17 stated that principal and teachers of these schools closed the study as they had gone to buy goats.

The radio has covered news about a press release issued by Federation of Nepalese Journalists Gulmi District Chapter demanding resumption of studies in these schools. The victim informed that he received threat of any action from a mobile number 97470-07995.

Meanwhile, stating that the news was false Nepal Teachers Association announced further protest program. A team of journalists and human rights defenders have left for Wami VDC on October 12 to receive accurate information about the incident.
